The distinguished Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma. Has taken to the media to threaten the Imo state worker’s which he said in his speech “no work, no pay”.
He made this statement when he heard that Imo state workers are planning on embarking on a strike due to no payment of salary.
The Governor who backed up his speech by quoting the international labour law provision which read like this; “Our Policy is Simple, No work no Payment. Which is in accord with international labour law provisions, section 43 of the Trade Disputes act.
The government has,determined to pay salaries regularly. However, salaries will be paid only to those who earn it by working. Any worker who decides to join them and embark on strike won’t be paid.
Meanwhile, Imo state workers are been owned for a very long time, both pensioners and present workers.
