Burna Boy Talks About His Mom Managing His Career

Burna Boy, the Nigerian Grammy Award winner, has said goodbye to his mother’s management.
With his mother as his manager, ‘African Giant,’ as he is affectionately known, said it isn’t all peaches and flowers, but the experience has been incredible.

He stated that their professional relationship is fine, despite the fact that things do not always go as planned.

Burna revealed this during a recent interview with Trevor Noah on The Daily Show.

“Obviously it’s not all peaches and roses,” he stated when asked about his working relationship with his mother as manager. “But there’s a lot of food, and that makes me happy enough.”\

“She used to do that but I stood m ground so she worked out some other ways like making me feel like it’s my decision,” he responded when asked if his mother acts like a “African mother.”

Burna went on to ask why selling out Madison Square Garden is considered special.

“You know, one thing I always wonder is why, when it’s me doing it, they constantly point out that I’m the first to do it, like the first guy to land on the moon?” he added. Why don’t they say the first American rock band to perform in Tokyo when rock bands perform in Tokyo?”
