Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, has indicated that if elected president, he will combat corruption in the same way that President Muhammadu Buhari has.

The minister went on to claim that corruption and poverty are “twin brothers,” and that Buhari is battling corruption by addressing poverty through social investment programs.

“We will take advantage of the country’s resources.” The maritime industry will be looked after by us. “We’ll also look after the mineral resources,” he added.

“We’ll be able to better regulate the youth and give them hope, allowing them to express their brains and become more resourceful.”

“Of course, we must continue the battle against corruption because if we don’t, it will kill us, and I will continue to do what the president is doing properly in terms of combating corruption that hasn’t been done in the past.”

“Poverty has a twin brother, and his name is corruption. You can’t fight corruption without also battling poverty, which is why social investment programs have been put in place to help the country’s poorest citizens by empowering them

“It means that when we address poverty, we are also addressing corruption, since corruption exacerbates poverty and poverty exacerbates corruption.”
