Romelu Lukaku, the Chelsea striker, is expected to return to Inter Milan this summer on one condition.
The Nerazzurri could bring Lukaku back ahead of the 2022-23 season, but only on a loan contract, according to Italian source Corriere Della Sera.

The move could not be ‘discarded,’ according to the source, because Lukaku does not want to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The only stumbling block is Inter’s inability to pay to sign Lukaku on a long-term contract.

Lukaku’s annual salary is said to be approximately €12.5 million, which the Serie A champions cannot afford.

Should Chelsea be willing to loan him out, he may return to Italy.

Lukaku returned to Chelsea for a second term after a club-record £97.5 million transfer from Inter Milan last summer.

However, things have not gone according to plan, as the Belgium international has struggled to find consistent form this season, netting only eight goals in the Premier League.
