The Kano PDP Governorship Primary is won by Abacha’s son

Alhaji Muhammad Abacha, the son of former military leader Sani Abacha, has been named as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate in Kano State for the 2023 general election.
In the Kano state primary election on Wednesday, Abacha received 736 votes to defeat his nearest challenger, Jafar Sani-Bello, who received 710 votes.

The Returning Officer, Hajiya Amina Garba, announced the results, declaring Abacha the winner of the primaries with 736 votes.

The primaries were properly held with validly elected delegates, according to Alhaji Mohammed Jamu, Chairman of the Electoral Committee. They were monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, police, and State Security Service operatives.
