The FG has filed homicide charges against Osinachi’s husband

Peter Nwachukwu, the late popular gospel performer Osinachi’s spouse, has been charged with 23 counts by the federal government.

The Federal Ministry of Justice brought accusations of culpable homicide before the FCT High Court under Sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015, Section 221 of the Penal Code, and the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (VAPP).

Mrs Yewande Gbola-Awopetun, the Head, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Department of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Ministry of Justice, signed the charges on May 20, 2022.

The defendant was accused of forcibly ejecting the dead from the family home and forcing Osinachi out of a moving vehicle, according to the prosecutor.

The prosecution further claimed that the defendant restricted the deceased’s movement and locked her up in the house, robbing her of her liberty.

Nwachukwu was also charged with emotional, verbal, and psychological abuse in violation of the VAPP Act’s section 14(1).

The defendant allegedly denied Osinachi access to her money, forcing her to beg and borrow for medication and basic essentials.

Osinachi’s spouse was also accused of isolating and isolating her from her family by forbidding the deceased’s mother and siblings from accessing her matrimonial house.

Nwachukwu was also accused of abusing the children by brutally beating them and recording their cries and playing them again on his phone.
