Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President, has stated that if elected president in 2023, he will only serve one term.
He offered the guarantee during meetings with South East leaders, according to a top source, ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential primaries this weekend.
On Friday, May 27, when dealing with national delegates and party leaders, the presidential candidate also stated that he is devoted to an Igbo presidency.
“The former Vice President delivered his remarks with the gravitas of a statesman. He recognizes that in order for the country to be united, the South East must be considered in all political decisions.
This is why we are confident that with our help, we would be able to elect an Igbo president by 2027,” a senior PDP official stated.
