Nasiru Idris the President of the Nigerian Union of Teachers has won the APC gubernatorial primary in Kebbi

Dr. Nasir Idris, the National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and Deputy President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has been elected as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Kebbi state.

Nasir Idris received 1055 votes in the party’s primary election in Birnin Kebbi, defeating two other candidates.

Hon. Idris Yahuza Ya’akub, the chairman of the APC Kebbi governorship primary (National Secretariat), announced the election results in the early hours of Friday.

One of the candidates, Senate Majority Leader Yahaya Abdullahi, received zero votes, while the third candidate, retired Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs Abubakar Mallam, received 35 votes.

Dr. Nasir Idris, the APC governorship candidate, praised Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for allowing the party to hold the primary election smoothly, peacefully, without hiccups, and transparently.
