Obanikoro’s son is defeated by Oba Elegushi’s brother in the APC House of Representatives election

At the Iru Victoria Island Local Council Development Area in Lagos, Obanikoro received 23 votes to Elegushi’s 25 votes in the primary.

Babajide Obanikoro’s candidacy for a second term in the House of Representatives to represent Eti-Osa 1 Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress was defeated in the primaries on Friday.

Obanikoro, the son of a former minister of state for defense, Musiliu Obanikoro, lost the APC ticket by two votes to Oyekanmi Elegushi, the brother of Ikate Kingdom’s Oba Saheed Elegushi.

At the Iru Victoria Island Local Council Development Area in Lagos, Obanikoro received 23 votes to Elegushi’s 25 votes in the primary.

“At the end of the exercise, Oyekanmi Elegushi received 25 votes, Babjide Obanikoro received 23, and Adegoke Rasaq received two,” stated Tolani Sule, the election officer.
