Peter Obi, a presidential candidate, has warned his followers against criticizing the personalities of other candidates and aspirants.
Obi issued the warning on his Twitter account on Sunday. Obi expressed his displeasure with the development, saying that some of his fans were casting aspersions and insults on other hopefuls and candidates.
Obi praised his fans for their unwavering support and advised them to “imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship” by not calling his opponents names.
He said that elections should be democratic, and that supporting political candidates and hopefuls does not have to engender animosity.
According to the former governor of Anambra,
“It has come to my knowledge, and I’ve also noticed that some of my many fans are making personal assaults on other aspirants/candidates.
“We all want to make Nigeria a better place.” “Elections are a democratic struggle that don’t have to be antagonistic,” he explained.
