The Independent National Electoral Commission has conducted a simulated exercise with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), which simplifies voter accreditation on election day, ahead of the governorship race in Ekiti state.

The exercise, according to INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, took place on Monday, May 30 and was a success.

“We agreed we’d undertake a mock-test in a few local government regions to further examine the machines’ functionality before the election,” he said. So far, the mock has gone well.

“We went to one of the polling stations in Ado, and now we’re in Ikere.” We next proceed to the local government of Irepodun/Ifelodun for the same reason.

“Overall, we’re satisfied with the devices’ functionality.”

“As you can see, the Ikere local government office has been refurbished, as have many other local government offices.” These aren’t just administrative assets; they’re also voting assets.”
