And van der Kraan warned the 52-year-old Dutchman against falling into the same trap of being ‘too Dutch’, like former Man United boss Louis van Gaal, who was sacked by the Old Trafford outfit.

According to Kraan, the former Ajax manager will have to adapt to the systems of English football, adding that it is always difficult for Dutch managers going to England.

Adding, “You don’t know what the Premier League is about until you get there.

“That has been the problem for Louis van Gaal as well. He’s a good coach but he wasn’t the right man for Manchester United. He wanted to be too Dutch but you can’t be too Dutch.”
