Ibrahim Magu Has Been Appointed As AIG (Photos)

Former interim chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has been promoted to assistant inspector-general of police (AIG).

The promotion was confirmed by the police service commission (PSC) in May.

The former anti-corruption czar was honored by Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), at the police headquarters in Abuja, with Magu’s wife in attendance.

The news comes as Magu prepares to leave the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) after reaching the required retirement age of 60 on May 5.

After appearing before a panel investigating charges of severe misconduct, Magu was suspended as acting chairman of the EFCC in July 2020.

The photographs below show Magu’s AIG decorating.
