Nigeria’s Problem 1999 Constitution Afe Babalola is adamant

Afe Babalola, the founder of Afe Babalola University, has urged engineers to join the struggle for Nigeria’s rebirth by drafting a new constitution that would allow professionals to make up the majority of the National Assembly.

Despite the importance of engineering to growth, Babalola questioned the amount of engineers in the National Assembly at the moment and encouraged them to wake up to prevent the country from collapsing.

The ABUAD founder gave a talk titled “Economic growth through entrepreneurship and skill acquisition” at the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ekiti State branch’s “2nd Dr. A.A. Esan Annual Lecture” in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.

He stated, “

“As a vital body that holds the key to any country’s development, I urge you to return home and join the struggle for a new constitution in which engineers will play a crucial role in the country’s resuscitation.”

“The 1999 Constitution is unquestionably our issue. A new constitution is urgently needed that will allow professionals like as doctors, engineers, attorneys, and bankers to create majorities in both houses.”
