As the ruling All Progressives Congress (APCpresidential )’s primary approaches, 17 governors elected on the party’s platform have promised to back whoever President Muhammadu Buhari nominates.
Prior to his trip to Spain, Buhari urged APC governors to back him in choosing a favored candidate to fly the party’s flags in next year’s presidential election.
Only the governors of Kano, Abdullahi Ganduje, and Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai, according to the Daily Sun, have flatly rejected the concept of President Buhari endorsing one candidate.
It was gathered that the governors of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Osun, Adegboyega Odetola, and Katsina, Aminu Masari, are divided on the issue.
According to sources, the three governors who are currently neutral could go either way.
The favored aspirant is anticipated to be revealed to the governors on Sunday, ahead of the June 6, 2022 special national convention in Monay.
