I Didn’t Endorse Any Candidate Our Goal Is The Southern Presidency Says Akeredolu

Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo State, has indicated that he has no preferred presidential candidate and has not endorsed any of the 23 candidates seeking the party’s presidential nomination ahead of the APC’s presidential primary.

According to Akeredolu, the ultimate ambition of the Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum and his colleagues was for the presidency to return to the south.

In a statement made by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, Akeredolu distanced himself from reports linking him to the endorsement of one of the candidates.

Despite the fact that the story was created to pull him into unneeded controversy, the governor said that the piece was written to bring him into unnecessary controversy as Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, which thought that power and the presidency should migrate to the South.

“Our attention has just been called to a widely circulated remark attributed to Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, reportedly backing a certain presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress platform” (APC).

“Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, did not write the statement, which was primarily filled with partisan interest and a fluid narrative.”
