Some ‘Judas’ in the South are playing spoiler games Shettima claims

Senator Kashim Shettima, the former governor of Borno State, has claimed that some southerners, whom he likened to the historical Judas Iscariot, are striving to prevent Nigeria’s power transition to the south in 2023.

Many have suggested that the next president, following current Muhammadu Buhari, must be from the south.

With the election of Vice President Atiku as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential nominee, some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have stated that awarding the APC ticket to a northerner is the only option to defeat the PDP in 2023.

While on a visit to Ogun State with a presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, Shettima voiced fear that some Judas Iscariots from the South were “hellbent on becoming spoilers” in order to sabotage the South’s chances of producing the next president.

Shettima stated in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, that the enemy of Southern Nigeria is often men and women of its own stock, the Judas Iscariots of the Southern race, who are always ready to play second fiddle.

The Senator claimed that some presidential candidates from Ogun could not get more than ten votes in the APC presidential primaries, and that such candidates would end up as spoilers.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Governor Ibikunle Amosun, former House of Representatives Speaker Dimeji Bankole, and Pastor Tunde Bakare are among the Ogun indigenes in the APC presidential contest, according to NAIJALOADED.

In his own words:

“The enemy of Southern Nigeria is frequently not Northern Nigeria, but men and women of its own stock, the Southern race’s Judas Iscariots, who are always willing to play second fiddle.”

“We are living in very interesting times, and those of us in the Asiwaju team are moved by the forest of ideas and the realization that what this country needs is a unifying leader who has neither an ethnic nor a religious agenda, who is not bound by toxic regional solidarity, and who is known for exemplary qualitative leadership, and if you look around at the contenders and pretenders for the Presidency of this country, there is no one who the cap fits better than th

“The dynamics have shifted in our present regime, and there is no politician in the APC with the brand name, first name recognition, track record, or drive for excellence who can stand toe-to-toe with and even outshine Atiku Abubakar better than Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

“He was mercilessly witch-hunted, tormented, and intimidated by the PDP-controlled Federal government at the time he built the groundwork for contemporary Lagos,” says the author.

“So, in the spirit of oneness and in the common interest of the SouthWest, I implore you to intervene on behalf of your boys who are hell-bent on being spoilers, that support intervenes on your sons who are hell-bent on becoming spoilers.” It is more honorable and superior.

“Ogun, you’re presenting four presidential candidates, and you and I both know that some of them won’t receive more than 10 votes, but they’ll be spoilers, but I can tell you that we’ll stand on Tinubu’s mandate.”
