Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s national head and frontline presidential aspirant, has been warned against backing President Muhammadu Buhari by Chief Ayo Adebanjo, the leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political organization Afenifere.

He spoke to Daily Trust against the backdrop of the uproar sparked by his remarks last Thursday in Abeokuta, in which he claimed to have insured Buhari’s win in 2015.

Garba Shehu, the president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, responded to Tinubu, adding that many individuals helped him win.

Adebanjo recalls warning Tinubu a long time ago that Buhari could not be trusted when he was positioning him as Nigeria’s finest candidate for president.

Even though people felt he was spouting garbage at the time, he asserted that what he said about Buhari came true.

“Those were skeptics said the old man was merely babbling. ‘OK, let’s wait and see,’ I said. I’m not going to say anything else until they leave. When they ultimately abandon ship, that’s when I’ll make a comment.

“Now is not the time for me to tell him he needs to leave the party; I told him that a long time ago.” You should refer to what others have said, as well as what I have specifically informed him.”
