Three people have been apprehended for kidnapping in Adamawa State and two people have been rescued

Three suspects for kidnapping have been apprehended by Adamawa State Police Command officers.

According to a press release obtained from the command on Monday, the operation took place on Saturday, June 4 near Ngurore Mountain in the Gombi Local Government Area, and two victims were retrieved.

The suspects were identified as Hammadu Ahmad, 20 years old, and Umaru Isa, also 20 years old, both of Gada Maisaje, Gombi, as well as Muhammed Bello, 25 years old, of Sabon Gari in Dambo’a Local Government Area of Borno State.

Two additional suspects, according to the police, have eluded capture, and efforts are currently being made to apprehend them.

The three people seized have admitted to kidnapping two people: Yuguda Usman, 11 years old, and Mohammed Mohammed, 65 years old, both residents of Wushubura village in Gombi.

“A good Samaritan saw their unusual movements around the mountain and reported it to the police,” says the report.

According to the statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer Suleiman Nguroje, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Sikiru Akande, ordered rapid action based on the information, after which DPO Gombi and vigilantes acted quickly, apprehended the suspects, and rescued the victims.

“So far, investigation has revealed that members of the syndicate have been terrorizing villages in the Gombi and Song Local Government Areas,” says the report.

The police commissioner had also asked the O/C of the police crack squad to take over the investigation and guarantee that the suspects were prosecuted, according to the report.
