The Zamfara State Government has revealed that over one million people have received the COVID-19 vaccine

According to the Zamfara State government, 1,517,119 people in the state have gotten the COVID-19 vaccine.

Mustafa Aliyu, the Programme Manager of the Zamfara State Health Care Board, revealed this on Tuesday while delivering a paper at a one-day workshop organized by the board for journalists in the state.

“The first dose was given to 853,392 people; the second dose was given to 555,509 people, and the booster dose was given to 107,209 people.”

According to him, only 33% of the State’s population have received the vaccine as a result of this development.

Aliyu added that public education was underway to reach the remaining 70% of the state’s population by the end of September 2022.

“We are stepping up our efforts to ensure that 70 percent of the State’s citizens receive the vaccine by the end of September this year,” said the governor.

He made a point.

The program manager invited individuals to go to any of the COVID-19 immunization centers throughout the state to get the vaccine, which he claimed is free.
