John Keister’s men are keen to make a return to the biennial competition and have Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau, and Sao Tome and Principe to contend with in Group A of the qualifiers.

The West Africans will begin their quest for a place in Cote d’Ivoire 2023 with an away fixture against the Super Eagles at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

The Leone Stars arrived in Abuja on Sunday and have been perfecting strategies for the game.

Kakay hinted that the players are in good spirit and are looking forward to facing the Super Eagles.

”The boys are in good spirit, were preparing for the games against Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau. There’s been talks going round misrepresenting what I’ve said but I’m a professional footballer I respect every opponent I play against,” the Queens Park Rangers defender stated in a short video posted on the Twitter handle of the Sierra Leone Football Association.
