Jamilu Sufi, who lives in Sokoto, said that he is getting death threats because he supports Peter Obi, who is running for president with the Labour Party.
Sufi, who is a Muslim, said that the person had also threatened his wife on Twitter.
He wrote:
“I don’t give in to threats and blackmail,”
“Eventually, he called my wife and said he would kill her too. Even though I blocked him, he and other guys kept making threats against me and my wife.
When talking to Premium Times, Sufi said that he had told the Sokoto state police about the threats.
He said that the unknown person is fluent in both Hausa and lgbo.
In one of his posts on the microblogging site, he said that he had brought together the different parts of the LP in Sokoto State. He also said that he wanted to do the same thing in other states in the region.
Mr. Sufi has been using Twitter to gain support for Mr. Obi and the LP in Sokoto State and the North-West.
