The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has taken Ameerah Sufiyanu into custody after she said on Twitter last week that she had been taken from her home.

Sufiyanu posted on Twitter that she and 16 other people had been taken away. Last week, the police told the public that she had been found and that they did not believe that she had been taken.

Ameerah told the public, the police, friends, and family on Twitter on Monday, June 20, that she was sorry for setting off a false alarm.

She said she wasn’t taken, but that she had left her house and gone into the bush, where she starved herself and lost a lot of water.

“Good morning, everyone! I want to officially apologize to the public, the entire police department, and my friends and family for misleading them with the tweet below. Nothing like that happened, and it was all just me being crazy and thinking bad thoughts.

“I took myself out of our house on purpose, went to these places, hid in bushes, and went without water and food for four days. There was no kidnapping, nothing at all. I’m sorry, and please pray for me, because I need it.” she sent out tweets

Ameerah is being held by police while an investigation is going on, says the FCT police command.
