Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, said something after the club said Fabio Vieira would be their first big signing of the summer.
The former FC Porto star officially joined Arsenal on Tuesday after a £34 million deal with Porto was finalized.
The deal starts with a payment of €35m (£30m), and there are also add-ons worth €5m (£4.3m).
Vieira is Arsenal’s third new player to join the team this summer. Matt Turner, a goalkeeper, and Marquinhos, a young winger, were the first two.
“I’m very happy that we found and signed such a great talent. Mikel Arteta said, “Fabio is a very creative player who will add a lot of quality and variety to the way we attack.”
“Fabio and his family are welcome at our club, and we can’t wait to start working with him before the new season.”
The Gunners are still looking for a few more players to sign before the 2022/23 season starts in August.
