A man was caught in the state of Borno for using electricity from a street light generator to power ice-block machines

Residents of the G.R.A neighborhood in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, found a man who was using electricity from street lights to power his refrigerators that made ice blocks.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, and it was said that he sold a lot of ice blocks in the city, which has been without power for about a year.

Some people in the area say that the man in question, who has been stealing electricity for about three years, also tried to bribe the people who arrested him with one million naira, but they turned him down.

Some of Maiduguri’s streetlights are mostly run by generator sets.

Remember that Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, hasn’t had electricity since last year, causing the people there a lot of trouble.

Insurgents from the group Boko Haram destroyed electricity transmission towers along the highway between Maiduguri and Damaturu. This caused the blackout.
