David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is an Afrobeat superstar from Nigeria. He is currently on a North American tour called “We Rise by Lifting Others,” which started on June 16 in Brooklyn, New York. He has made N144.5 million from sold-out shows at History-Toronto and House of Blue in Boston.
SeatGeek’s data showed that the award-winning singer’s tour tickets were usually sold for as little as $41.00, with an average price of $74.00. According to BusinessDay, Davido made $185,000 (N76.8m) and $162,800 (N67.6m), which adds up to N144.5m based on an average ticket price of N415.37 and the capacities of History (2,500) and House of Blues (2,200).
Reports say that people who want to buy tickets would look for prices online using sites like SeatGeek’s Deal Score Function, which ranks tickets by value and shows buyers how good of a deal they are getting when they buy tickets.
Davido told Trevor Noah on the tour’s daily show that the main goal of the North American tour was to show off all of Africa and bring everyone along with him, especially Africans.
