Tuchel makes honest confession ahead of Everton clash

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has admitted that his team is not ready ahead of their Premier League opener against Everton next Saturday.

Chelsea will face Everton in an away Premier League tie at Goodison Park on August 6.

Tuchel’s men concluded their pre-season on Friday after beating Udinese 3-1.

However, ahead of their first Premier League tie this season against Frank Lampard’s side, Tuchel admitted that Chelsea are unprepared and needs to improve before the clash.

“It was a pretty long pre-season,” Tuchel was quoted by Daily Mail as saying.

“Tiring and exhausting to be in the US for so long, and having to travel again today under the circumstances is not so easy, pretty demanding.

“After this weekend, we prepare for nothing else other than Everton. The season is right in front of the door. There is a lot of positive stuff, but we need to improve.

“We are not ready yet. We don’t have to be ready yet. We have another week and then it is time to be on the best level. It is always nice when the season arrives.
