Following the Super Eagles 2-0 victory over Rwanda in the 2026 World Cup qualifying game in Kigali on Friday, Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has singled out two Wasps players who impressed him.

Troost-Ekong was in Nigerian defence for the entire game and helped the west African side secure a crucial win at the Amahoro Stadium.

He told the press that the Rwandan squad is made up of quality players, picking out midfielder, Djihad Bizimana and striker Innocent Nshuti for praise.

“I think Rwanda has a great team. I love their team spirit,” he said.

“If I had to choose one or two, I will probably say the captain, Djihad Bizimana. I think he’s very good at dividing the play, getting into space, finding the pockets, and also making the team thick.

“And also the striker Innocent Nshuti, that I have played against three times now. He understands well how to make the runs and getting into space behind.

“He’s quite big but he’s fast as well. They are definitely quality players in the squad and I don’t want to miss out on anyone. Those are the two that are first on my mind.”

DAILY POST reports that Nigeria will next face Zimbabwe on Tuesday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
