I LOVE NIGERIA
I love Nigeria, it is my home country. It is where I was born, it is etched eternally in my DNA, I am Nigerian to the core- my accent, my way of life, my perception to reality; all that I know, all I’ll ever know was established from the inner creeks of Mushin, Lagos state in Nigeria. I love Nigeria, unapologetically, I am Nigerian- today, tomorrow and forever.
Unfortunately, the heinous events ongoing in the country have made me question my admiration for the nation I love. The policies and the cost of living are choking me, meanwhile, the state government is doing little to nothing to support and cater to my well-being, instead, the rulers are only seeking means to put me in financial ruin and annihilate me emotionally. They have put me in a chokehold where the only option is to abscond from the four walls of the country and seek protection from elsewhere.

I love Nigeria but every morning when I wake, my heart aches, simply put, it breaks. My heart sinks further and bleeds from the nefarious and underwhelming decisions from the leaders of the state, they are not looking to develop or improve the life of those in the nation, instead, they are only here to kill, steal and destroy. The leaders of Nigeria do nothing for the Nigerians who are patriotic, the objective of the ruling party is to siphon the commonwealth of the country’s citizens.
A hard time to be a Nigerian, it is tough to breathe.

One of the saddest things about being Nigerian is that the leaders are not prepared to take care of the citizens. They only turn a deaf ear to the complaints of the countrymen; they put them in a chokehold where they are only interested in their own pockets.
I love Nigeria but the government is killing me, they are not giving me a reason to believe in a better tomorrow.
