Vaccarello drew inspiration from Saint Laurent’s 1990s haute couture collections, a period he admires partly because, at the time, the fashion world dismissed YSL as outdated—making it ripe for reinterpretation.
His designs featured an inverted triangle silhouette, starting with strong shoulders that tapered towards the hem. His collection included vibrantly colored, high-collared coats with hidden closures and subtle hip belts, simple sack dresses (with one exception in guipure lace), bow-back blouses paired with slim skirts, and a notable absence of trousers. And, of course, there was the leather blouson—a staple of YSL under Vaccarello—exuding effortless cool with its bold shoulders and easy, throw-it-on attitude, now as iconic to the house as the tuxedo.
From rich textures like velvet and silk to bold prints and intricate embellishments, the collection offers a diverse range of statement pieces for the modern woman. Overall, Saint Laurent once again proves why it is synonymous with high fashion and timeless style.
